Bering Sea Gold

Oregon Gold News & Misc
The Discovery Channel announced a new gold mining television show that premiers on January 27th, 2012. Bering Sea Gold as it is called is based out of Nome, Alaska and deals with ocean dredging of the Bering Sea. I have met a handful of guys who do this for a living, so I believe I will find this interesting to watch. I do know that without fail at least one person every dredge season washes up on the beaches of Nome every year, having lost their life in the frigid waters of the Bering Sea.
Miners mentioned in the above posted Bering Sea Gold videos are named… Steve Pomrenke, Shawn Pomrenke, Vernon Adkison, Zeke Tenhoff and Scott Meisterhiem.

Wonder if that is legal.. who do you have to sue to get a permit? Is there ANY gold dfredging allowed on the Oregon Coast.. or have the envirophobes taken control?

Hay Steve Pomrenke, have you ever been to Australia. I met a guy at the Tacking Point Tavern at Port Macquarie, New South Wales, Australia, about 4 or 5 years ago(there abouts) and he looked like you. His son approached us first as we were entertaining patrons of the Tavern, being professional musician entertainers. He requested a song for his Dad who was celebrating something (a birthday maybe?) and we accomodated accordingly. Then, later on,
a guy very similar to yourself came over and thanked us and we commented on the American accent etc and eventually the guy said he was heading up into Alaska to prospect for Gold. This caught our attention being fossickers ourselves as we head into the outback of Australia at times when our work takes us there. Anyhow, Just wondering if you have ever been to Australia up the east coast and could you be the guy and his son I met? Good luck with your Gold mining Steve!
